The “Become a lawyer in your school” project is an initiative of the National Union of Romanian Bar Associations (UNBR) through which lawyers volunteer in schools to deliver legal education sessions for students, teachers, and parents. The main goal is to increase the level of legal literacy among young people and to foster civic spirit, helping them better understand their rights, obligations, and the legal consequences of their actions.
The program is based on interactive methods and practical examples tailored to the age and needs of students. It covers topics such as criminal and civil liability, children’s rights, online relationships and data protection, digital safety, as well as the importance of respecting rules within the community. With the involvement of more than one thousand volunteer lawyers from across the country, the project has demonstrated that non-formal legal education can effectively complement traditional schooling, while also bringing the legal profession closer to society and building trust in the justice system.
As a volunteer, Mr. Goran organized a series of non-formal legal education workshops for primary school students within this project.
